Guest Teaching
Dorsey guest teaches (Modern Technique, Repertory and Master Classes) in dance departments, festivals and conferences; Dorsey leads lec-dems, keynotes, lectures and class visits in Dance, Gender and Sexuality, History and other departments.
Dorsey’s guest teaching offers the unique opportunity of interaction and learning with a transgender and queer artistic leader who is creating award-winning work with trans and queer artistic themes.
In-School Residencies
During in-school residencies, Dorsey and the Company teach and set Sean Dorsey Dance repertory OR create and set new work on students.
These intensive residencies hone students’ creative and technical skills, leading them through the Company’s rigorous training, technique and creation practices. Students learn Sean Dorsey Dance’s full-human dance-theater approach, choreographic structures, and the Company’s signature lush, full-bodied, gesture-rich, expressive repertory. Classes are body-positive and trans-friendly.
Residencies offer students extended and intense learning with Sean Dorsey Dance, and the unique opportunity to study with a nationally-touring dance company with transgender leadership and trans and queer artistic themes.
